Hope you all well? Cannot believe it’s been 4 months since my last post!
A lot has changed in my life since, however the good always outweighs the bad. Finally started my mobile beauty business…YAY. Not easy but what business is? I find that it is very important to use the best products for maximum results and for building client relationship, so this post is about tips on a good manicure; I hope you find the tips helpful.
The DIY manicure… It is important you invest in a really good Base Coat and Top Coat Nail Polish.
The best one on the market is the Essie Base Coat Nail Polish, Beauty therapists use it and I personally think it’s the best and only costs £5.95.
We find using a base coat extends the life of a manicure, because it acts as an adhesive. Giving the polish an even surface and prevents dark colours staining your nails.
The Top Coat Nail Polish by Seche Vite is absolutely amazing, fast drying and only costs £5.95.
Top Coats seals your polish after the second coat and to keep them looking fresh, apply top coat every 2 days to keep nails sealed.
Wear gloves when cleaning to prevent chipping, not using gloves when using detergents and cleaning products lacking in vitamins.
Keep nails hydrated with cuticle oil; however avoid applying cuticle oil and cream before the manicure to prevent any oil being left on the nail bed. Also applying the cuticle after, whilst you are waiting for your nails to dry the oil acts as a treatment leaving you cuticle hydrated.
Hope this post has been helpful and hope you have lasting manicures. Please feel free to comment and ask questions. Stay beautiful inside and out! X
Hope you all having a wonderful weekend. I’m loving my Nails Inc London polish, ten pick and mix 10ml nail polishes, I bought over Black Friday sales last year. The normal price was £110 and I got it for £20! Such a great bargain. Plus I received a £10 voucher towards a treatment at any Nails Inc London… still need to use it before my voucher expires…the excitement is real! This is just a short post on me using my nail polishes!
Remember to always use a base coat before applying nail polish, because it keeps the colour from staining your nails. Also using a top coat will keep your nail polish on for longer. I’m sure you guys know that already…just checking.
Always keep your tools clean, put in a jar of Barbacide, using spatulas to remove products (Kaeso professional manicure range) from containers, to keep from cross- contamination… no double dipping!
Both of my lovely clients received a 45 minute luxury manicure, which includes hand massage, hand scrub, cuticle softening, file, polish and Paraffin wax for a deep conditioning treatment. Leaving your hands softer than a baby’s bottom.
Please feel free to comment, share or follow. Have a great weekend Dolls. Stay beautiful inside & out. X
Hope you’ve all been well? Keeping wrapped up and warm this winter. I have mixed feelings about the winter, sometimes I love it and other times I loath it. A client recently asked me for tips about the right make up for her and realising how many clients have asked the same question, I thought to write about the basics starting with foundation. My skin normally needs more moisture during this icy weather, so that means I normally have two foundations, one for summer and the other for the winter. I know that sounds really silly but it’s the truth! Firstly, your skin type changes due to environmental factors. Mine is a combination of normal/oily during the summer and dry/normal during the winter.
So choosing the right foundation is very important not only for coverage purposes but for your skin type. It is also a combination of knowing what properties the foundation has, that will be suitable for your skin. There are 11 types of foundations, in different shades, brands, occasions and skin types. Knowing what you are looking for in a foundation is key. I will try to keep this post short and sweet!
Always prep your skin well before applying foundation, cleanse, tone and moisturise. Make sure you wait for a couple of minutes before and after applying a primer, so the moisturiser penetrates in the skin, whilst the primer shields your skin and then apply your favourite coverage.
Suitable for all skin types, provides excellent full coverage without looking thick and cakey! It has high pigment content and the product is water resistant and excellent for covering hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, erythema, bruising, scars, birthmarks and tattoos. This product is available on the NHS for some conditions.
Airbrush Foundation (silicone based) & (alcohol based)
Suitable for all skin types, where as the alcohol based is used on the body rather than the face.
Provides full coverage and light texture, very natural looking coverage (silicone based). Used to fill in pores and fine lines. I think this is perfect for Brides.
Highly pigmented for full long lasting coverage and this is non-transferable so will not smudge when rubbed (alcohol based).
Suitable for oily skin because of the high powder content, that help absorb the oils.
contains powder producers or a small amount of mineral oil, talc and kaolin pigments.
Medium to heavy coverage with a matte finish and it last long on the skin.
Suitable for all skin types.
This gives a light, sheer coverage with a natural looking finish.
Pigment, minerals, wax titanium, dioxide cerasin. This is available in either oil or water base.
High Definition Foundation
Suitable for normal, combination or dry skin types and oily skin types will need to be powdered very well.
It provides full coverage with a natural finish, similar to airbrush foundation.
Silicone and strong pigment.
Liquid Foundation (oil or water)
suitable for normal or combination skin. Matte/ medicated foundations are available for oily or greasy skin types.
It has a shorter working time on application in comparison to cream foundation.
Light coverage semi-matte finish. Good for light, natural look in photos and on screen.
Pigments, minerals, wax titanium dioxide cerasin.
Cream Foundation (water in oil)
Suitable for most skin types, as it keeps the skin extra- moisturised.
Medium coverage and they normally come in compact and pan stick forms.
This foundation contains a higher oil content, with pigment, minerals, wax, titanium and dioxide cerasin. Not recommended for oily skin types, It is long lasting when used with translucent powder.
Tinted Moisturiser, Gel & Self Tan
Suitable for all skin types
the tinted moisturiser gives a natural coverage, great to use on men and children for that very natural effect.
the tinted gel provides a very light coverage, a transparent coverage for that sun-kissed and healthy glow finish.
Self tan gives a sheer coverage, giving you a tanned glow when applied properly.
Liquid foundation, moisturise humectants, oil, water and added pigments (Tinted Moisturiser).
Water, alcohol, pigment and titanium dioxide (Tinted Gel).
Pigments in water a water based gel (Tinted self tan).

Hope you all had a great weekend? Mine was busy with the twins, work and being a Stepford wife. The juggle is real!
In relation to the post I previously wrote on Spring 2016 trends; lets get on the topic of one of the hottest trends – the bright blue eye shadows, cobalt, navy, cerulean, teal…the list goes on! There is so much more theory when it comes to colours, so I will try to keep this post short, sweet and as informative as possible.
The key thing about this trend is finding the right blue for your skin tone and eye colour. Blue is a cool colour so this will compliment different undertones quite well. The colours we see depend on the colour of the light source, also considering different ingredients used in eye shadows have filters that can reflect a different colour in the light. Have you ever noticed when you get your foundation done at a make up counter in a department store it always looks different in day light?!! Well, natural daylight will give off a bluish tone and artificial lighting will give off a yellowish tone and fluorescent light gives off a green tone. This is why I always do my makeup in daylight it reflects my true skin tone/undertone. Also remember that when you buy a colour with the same name from different manufactures, the colour will never be the same.
Putting a brighter colour in the inner corner of the eye opens the eye out, making it seem larger. Where as darker colours close a space in. So lets avoid the darker blues around the inner corners of the eye. I’ve made up a list of the good Blues out there!
Happy New year beauties, wish you all a fabulous year!! Well with Fashion week coming up, which I’m so excited about!!! I have been doing some research on the expected beauty trends for spring/summer 2016. So i will be keeping this short and sweet!
So far what I’ve seen on the catwalk is doll look lashes from the 60s was seen on the Marni and Louis Vuitton show, graphic liners and still trending hard is the red lipstick… doubt this will ever go out of style!! At the Celine show, berry and purple lip stick at Mui Mui. Bright eyeshadows the blues, turquoise and yellows were spotted in the Missoni, Chanel and Alexis Mabille. Defined brows, highlighted skin and subtle lips is still going strong was seen in Balmain, Roberto Cavalli and Bottega Veneta.
Berry and Purples lip stick
plump subtle lips
Edgy Girl (kohl eyeliner inside the water line of your eyes)
My favourite trend has to be the ‘faux freckles’, they looked beautiful at the Emanuel Ungaro, I have an obsession with freckles love them, I actually did faux freckles look for one of my assignments before i even knew that it was a trend to look out for!
I used Motives Cosmetics brown kohl pencil to create the freckles and set it using Motives luminous powder. Defined her brows using Sleek brow gel and Motives Brow compact.
Hope you Dolls are excited about Fashion Week as much as I am! Will be posting more on the trends on how to pull off the looks! So watch this space and please do comment and I hope you guys enjoy this post.
I’m officially a beautician so excited, i’m feeling accomplished (be a mother of twins is my biggest accomplishment.) and ready for the next chapter! Which is building my brand and services, it is not going to be easy, they may be hurdles along the way, but its the journey that will test me, the destination is the blessing.
Now i have more time to put in my blog, work on building my clientele, launch my website and also putting more time in my online cosmetics shop. I have invested in Motives Cosmetics, great products Chanel quality half the price. I’m not just saying that because its my business, the products speaks for it self. I have attached a link so you dolls can have a look and make your own opinions, however I will do a post of my top 5 Motives Cosmetics soon, posts on nail care, skin care & how to recreate make up looks you love.
Dauphine Diaries blog is going through great changes and i hope you dolls will join me on this journey, comment, email me what kind of things you would like me to post any beauty or make up related things you want to know more about please please do let me know!!! Can not wait to hear from you all and thank you so much to my readers for the support and i shall speak to you soon.
Will try to keep this short! As some of you may know that i have been on the journey of becoming a makeup artist. I started the course in April 2015 and it is almost coming to an end, i’ve picked up a lot of skills, technical and theoretical! But you can not be taught how to be creative, that is something that comes through when you have found your niche and that passion in something you love! My point is finding the kind of makeup artist you want to be! Yes professionalism is number 1, but being unique and yourself will reflect on your work! I’m the creative type, i feel like it allows you to explore and challenge yourself, always try something different! During my training I’ve been constantly trying out things, that are not in my comfort zone. However i have learned from that and i’m ready to take the next step, I’m no longer a training makeup artist! I’m Christelle the makeup artist, i realised that yesterday when I organised a photo shoot in Last Shot Studios London, for my portfolio, which consisted a variety in my work; beauty looks such as bridal and trending looks i suppose! Well you guys can be the judge of that when i release the pictures during my website launch! I like to think i’m quite good editorial/high fashion looks. Anyway I had a great crew, models, photographer and a fantastic studio. However i’m constantly learning, now i know what i need to do differently for my next shoot. I’m my biggest critic! will show you my favourite look i would like to recreate for my next shoot!
This look was inspired by Sam Francis painting at The Tate Modern!
The colours and the spaces of this painting just drew me in! and i choose to do it on Katie because of her fair complexion so would like to have this professionally photographed and add white lashes top and bottom to finish off the look.
I hope you beauties have enjoyed this post! Please feel free to get in touch or comment! And will speak again soon, stay beautiful inside and out! XoX

Well summer is nearly over the fresh-faced beauty and loose waves, had a good run! It is time for the new season, the make up trends for autumn and winter has a grown up take. The lip gloss is back and the make up move towards more luxurious, expensive looks. It’s no secret that autumn is my favourite season, the sweaters, long coats and the colour of the leaves changing. Therefore I thought id post a few of my favourite trends for the new season.
The sophisticated look focuses on perfected skin, slightly rosy cheeks and subtle shading combined to create a rich groomed appearance.
Lashes create that clean blunt look, layering mascara to create doll like eyes. My favourite so far.
The return of the lip gloss, high shine pouts were spotted on models in Fendi, Rag & Bone and Rodrate shows in New York Fashion Week.
Blake eyeliner is always in style; however knowing how and where to wear it is key this season, using kohl liner onto the waterline.
The red lip statement is no more, opting instead for rich berry hues, pale pinks and warm blush tones. Making the lips part of the overall look and not as a statement piece.
These are my top 5 Autumn/Winter 2015 Trends, I hope you all enjoy these looks as much is I do this season! Please do comment or like if you do like my post. Stay beautiful always 😉 X.
