Test Drive your Cosmetics

Hey Dolls,

It’s been a while! wish there was more time in the day, writing up business plan, work, the twins and figuring out what new direction the blog is going! Anyway this post is not about that! However I will get back to that in more detail…Promise. Will try keep this post short and sweet.

Clients, girlfriends and family members always ask me, Christelle what’s a good eye cream or foundation etc etc. I obviously recommend what i know and I’ve tried, but that does not necessarily mean that it is right for their needs. I’ve always keep in mind if I’m going to spend money on good skin care, foundation or concealer….the list keeps going! Always ask for samples see if it works for you, see how you like it! There is nothing worst than spending £50 on a eye cream, for it to be siting in the back of your bathroom shelf because it is not working for you!!! We have all been there trust me, I know! It can be a little embarrassing to ask for samples….but don’t be, you have every right to do so.

I Asked for Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation samples, used it…Loved it! Bought IT!

Now kind of addicted to her products, I’m currently sampling her skincare range ‘The Magic Skin Trilogy‘.  The Magic Night Cream and The Magic Eye Rescue, haven’t tried The Magic Cream yet, however it is  an award-wining product! The samples I’m using so far so good!

The Magic Night Cream, has 8 de-ageing ingredients; Time-Released Retinol Molecules, Winter Daphne Stem Cells Extract, Frangipani, Vitamin E, Bionymph Peptide, Second Skin Red Algae Marigel, Castor Seed Oil is the healing properties in this cream and the last ingredient is Olus Oil.  It is always better to start using anti-ageing creams now to prevent the natural ageing process and avoid botox! I use a little, its an elixir so you do not need use a lot the texture is rich but velvety. My skin feels amazing in the morning, plump and smooth. I’m a firm believer of night creams and this one is 10/10.

The Magic Eye Rescue, contains 6 of the same ingredients instead of the Castor Seed Oil and Olus Oil; It contains Botanical Eye Contour Complex and Saccharide Isomerate. The Magic Eye Cream reduces the appearance of puffiness and dark circles, meant to smooth fine lines and instantly tightens and refreshes the skin. Well as you know the skin around your eyes is the thinest, so I apply very little around my eyes, you should always gently tap around the eyes not rub it! Because I used so little from my sample it lasted me a week and the appearance of my dark circles have reduced…I hardly use concealer around my eyes now! I will be making a trip to the nearest Charlotte Tilbury haul on pay day!!

Do not be shy nor embarrassed to ask for samples, reviews are helpful but it is not the as trying it for your self! I mean when you buy a car…you test it first no? Hope you have found this post useful and pleasant…please feel free to comment or share with friends. Stay beautiful inside out. X

Monday Blues

Hi Dolls,

Hope you all had a great weekend? Mine was busy with the twins, work and being a Stepford wife. The juggle is real!

In relation to the post I previously wrote on Spring 2016 trends; lets get on the topic of one of the hottest trends – the bright blue eye shadows, cobalt, navy, cerulean, teal…the list goes on! There is so much more theory when it comes to colours, so I will try to keep this post short, sweet and as  informative as possible.

The key thing about this trend is finding the right blue for your skin tone and eye colour. Blue is a cool colour so this will compliment different undertones quite well. The colours we see depend on the colour of the light source, also considering different ingredients used in eye shadows have filters that can reflect a different colour in the light. Have you ever noticed when you get your foundation done at a make up counter in a department store it always looks different in day light?!! Well, natural daylight will give off a bluish tone and artificial lighting will give off a yellowish tone and fluorescent light gives off a green tone. This is why I always do my makeup in daylight it reflects my true skin tone/undertone. Also remember that when you buy a colour with the same name from different manufactures, the colour will never be the same.

Putting a brighter colour in the inner corner of the eye opens the eye out, making it seem larger. Where as darker colours close a space in. So lets avoid the darker blues around the inner corners of the eye. I’ve made up a list of the good Blues out there!
