Monday Blues

Hi Dolls,

Hope you all had a great weekend? Mine was busy with the twins, work and being a Stepford wife. The juggle is real!

In relation to the post I previously wrote on Spring 2016 trends; lets get on the topic of one of the hottest trends – the bright blue eye shadows, cobalt, navy, cerulean, teal…the list goes on! There is so much more theory when it comes to colours, so I will try to keep this post short, sweet and as  informative as possible.

The key thing about this trend is finding the right blue for your skin tone and eye colour. Blue is a cool colour so this will compliment different undertones quite well. The colours we see depend on the colour of the light source, also considering different ingredients used in eye shadows have filters that can reflect a different colour in the light. Have you ever noticed when you get your foundation done at a make up counter in a department store it always looks different in day light?!! Well, natural daylight will give off a bluish tone and artificial lighting will give off a yellowish tone and fluorescent light gives off a green tone. This is why I always do my makeup in daylight it reflects my true skin tone/undertone. Also remember that when you buy a colour with the same name from different manufactures, the colour will never be the same.

Putting a brighter colour in the inner corner of the eye opens the eye out, making it seem larger. Where as darker colours close a space in. So lets avoid the darker blues around the inner corners of the eye. I’ve made up a list of the good Blues out there!

Spring Pretty…

Spring Pretty…

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend 🙂

Spring is here…even though it doesn’t seem like it! We’re pretty much still dressed for the winter, but it doesn’t mean our make up shouldn’t be in season. Think supernatural glowing skin, spring’s painterly strokes of colour ranged from the understated to high-impact lips and eye shadows. I have picked out my favourite make up trends for #SS15 (Spring & Summer 15).

SS15

The first look that did it for me and for those who love wearing bright colourful shadows, was at Elie Saab #SS15, Make up expert Tom Pecheux used MAC, layering different azure shades top and bottom absolutely gorgeous.

The romantic look, from Dolce Gabbana #SS15 was inspired by the Spanish influences in Sicily. All products used are Dolce Gabbana, the classic cream lipsticks in shades Ultra and Amethyst and the new Dolce matte lipstick in Dolce Desire, the brow is sculpted with a brow liner in chestnut. Perfect date night look!

The clean, “no make up”, glowing trend is my ultimate favourite, perfect for work, school runs, everyday make up! And it was seen in a few fashion houses’, like Christopher Kane #SS15 to name a few. Lucia Pieroni’s trick for getting that glowing skin, is to mix the Pure Radiant Tinted moisturiser with the Optimal Brightening Concentrate, both products by Nars, making your skin look healthier in an effortless way.

The final look, is for the lipstick addicts from Burberry Prorsum #SS15. Burberry’s make up artistic consultant Wendy Rowe, created the lustry look, the honey skin, tawny eyes and ruby lips. Proving the classic lip look is not dated. Lip colour in Ruby No18 from Burberry.
