Test Drive your Cosmetics

Hey Dolls,

It’s been a while! wish there was more time in the day, writing up business plan, work, the twins and figuring out what new direction the blog is going! Anyway this post is not about that! However I will get back to that in more detail…Promise. Will try keep this post short and sweet.

Clients, girlfriends and family members always ask me, Christelle what’s a good eye cream or foundation etc etc. I obviously recommend what i know and I’ve tried, but that does not necessarily mean that it is right for their needs. I’ve always keep in mind if I’m going to spend money on good skin care, foundation or concealer….the list keeps going! Always ask for samples see if it works for you, see how you like it! There is nothing worst than spending £50 on a eye cream, for it to be siting in the back of your bathroom shelf because it is not working for you!!! We have all been there trust me, I know! It can be a little embarrassing to ask for samples….but don’t be, you have every right to do so.

I Asked for Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation samples, used it…Loved it! Bought IT!

Now kind of addicted to her products, I’m currently sampling her skincare range ‘The Magic Skin Trilogy‘.  The Magic Night Cream and The Magic Eye Rescue, haven’t tried The Magic Cream yet, however it is  an award-wining product! The samples I’m using so far so good!

The Magic Night Cream, has 8 de-ageing ingredients; Time-Released Retinol Molecules, Winter Daphne Stem Cells Extract, Frangipani, Vitamin E, Bionymph Peptide, Second Skin Red Algae Marigel, Castor Seed Oil is the healing properties in this cream and the last ingredient is Olus Oil.  It is always better to start using anti-ageing creams now to prevent the natural ageing process and avoid botox! I use a little, its an elixir so you do not need use a lot the texture is rich but velvety. My skin feels amazing in the morning, plump and smooth. I’m a firm believer of night creams and this one is 10/10.

The Magic Eye Rescue, contains 6 of the same ingredients instead of the Castor Seed Oil and Olus Oil; It contains Botanical Eye Contour Complex and Saccharide Isomerate. The Magic Eye Cream reduces the appearance of puffiness and dark circles, meant to smooth fine lines and instantly tightens and refreshes the skin. Well as you know the skin around your eyes is the thinest, so I apply very little around my eyes, you should always gently tap around the eyes not rub it! Because I used so little from my sample it lasted me a week and the appearance of my dark circles have reduced…I hardly use concealer around my eyes now! I will be making a trip to the nearest Charlotte Tilbury haul on pay day!!

Do not be shy nor embarrassed to ask for samples, reviews are helpful but it is not the as trying it for your self! I mean when you buy a car…you test it first no? Hope you have found this post useful and pleasant…please feel free to comment or share with friends. Stay beautiful inside out. X

1234 Step Skincare

1234 Step Skincare

Hi Dolls, 🙂

Your skin care regime should be as strict as you can, 123 steps; double cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day. Also exfoliate and a mask is a must 1-2 times a week. The 4th step I just made up! Is night cream….Yes guys everyone should use night cream. Reasons why because at night your skin is in rest mode and repairs itself, in line with biorhythms and sleep patterns. Therefore a night cream is to support and make it more efficient at maintaining a healthy complexion.

Night creams contain ingredients that aid the regeneration process such as ceramides, which trigger collagen production and vitamins A, C, E or B5.

The current night cream I’m using at the moment is good, Simple Kind to Skin Vital Vitamin night cream; £5. 25 at Boots, Also this is fantastic for sensitive skin and those who like natural skin care, no perfume or alcohol in any of their Skin range. At first I thought this was a way for the industry to get us spending more, however I’ve been using a night cream for about 2 months now and I can see and feel the benefits. I have recommended many of my clients, friends and family, just make sure you get one for your skin type.

Stay beautiful inside out! 😉 X

Eye treatments (Brows & Lashes Tint )

Eye treatments (Brows & Lashes Tint )

Hi Beauties 😘

It’s been a while lost my blogging Mojo, I would like to think I’m back! So our facial unit is almost done and I can say that I’m very confident in giving treatments! I received a Merit grade for my first pre-observation, it is going really well so far. So today I’m going to keep it short n’ sweet and talk about the benefits of having your brows and lashes tinted; Tinting your brows not only gives colour and definition to catch on even on the finest hair. Also it’s perfect for when your on holiday there’s no need to draw them on all the time, for those hot summer nights just use a clear brow mascara to keep them neat and defined, that also goes for your lashes plus you can pull off the almost no make-up look! Me having my brow’s and lashes tinted has cut 5mins to my make up routine.

There’s 3 colours, Brown, Black and Blue.

The Blue is actually very black but put applying that on your brows will turn blue, so keep that just for the lashes.

Brown is perfect for blondes and if you want a darker brown leave it on for longer.

Always use Vaseline before tinting application.

You can get  tinting kits from Superdrugs, Boots and Sally’s, prices vary from £7 to £20 depending on the brand.

I’m in love with tinting and I hope you Doll’s find this post helpful, please feel free to comment. Stay beautiful in and out X. 🙂

Summer Problem 2; Bikini Line Up Keep

Hi Dolls, 🙂

Holiday/Summer season is here; the bikini area is exposed whether you opt for a one-piece or two piece. So that necessary up keep, can sometimes have the irritating side effects such as INGROWN hairs and the general painful wax! I have gathered some tips that usually work for me. Shaving with a sharp blade, every other day and using a calming gel like aloe-vera or the Aveeno’s oatmeal-based gel. Also what helps wriggle out those irritating ingrown hairs, is using a salicylic acid scrub, can be found in some face wash, make sure when using it around that area it’s for sensitive skin, or topical antibiotic like Evoclin foam. For those whom prefer waxing without the sting, try the BareEase & Cream Prep Kit; I have not tried that one out yet! Plan to. I hope you Beauties are enjoying my Summer series, stay tuned and please feel free to comment or ask questions. Stay FABULOUS, 😉 X.

Hi Guys and Dolls, 🙂

I’m sorry that I have been MIA lately, still trying to find a balance and making time for my blog, beauty training and launching my Unfranchiased business. The beauty school (LCBT) has 15 units to cover that have taken most of time studying/practice; I really love it! So far I’ve covered day, night and occasion make up, body art, French plait, fish plait and facial techniques, which I’m pretty confident in, plus practice, makes perfect! There still so much more to learn and I cannot wait, also I do not want to bore you with all the terms so will show you the stuff that I’ve covered so far. I will make sure to carry on posting as often as I used to and hope you beauties are still enjoying my blog!

Khloe Kardashian inspired this occasion make up I did for Ana she was going to a wedding! Keeping the Smokey eye very minimal, using browns and 3 different shades of gold, with eyeliner top and bottom, double lashes and bright red lipstick, cheek contour and blush to finish off the look. Hair Styled using Halo Extensions, her hair is in a bob! So I went for half up hairstyle with loose curls.

Body Art Hand Animals, zebras and a swan guess which ones mine…The Toucan. Body Art Robot Leg, that was my first attempt!

My professional facial set up! Also my first attempt doing a fish plait, first I practice on the doll and then plaited on Katie.

There will be a lot more posts in greater detail on how to and I’m so thankful for my lovely followers that have joined me on this wonderful journey, also I hope to gain many more new followers. Please do feel free to comment or ask questions, always happy to hear from all you Guys and Dolls ;-). X

I Scream Eyes Cream

Happy Easter, Beauty Bunnies 🙂

Growing up I’ve never really paid attention to eye creams, I thought it was a way for the cosmetics industries to get us spending more. During my pregnancy with the twins, I started noticing puffiness and dark circles around my eyes…not pretty! Only realising all these years I have been neglecting, the skin around my eyes. When I found out that the eye is the thinnest layer of skin on your entire body, and therefore the most sensitive. So using a cream made specifically for your eyes is crucial, especially as you age.

There are hundreds of eye creams on the market promising to clear dark circles, puffy eyes, and fine lines. Eye cream can offer your peepers protection from the elements and keep those early wrinkles at bay.

Also like the rest of your skin the delicate eye area differs from person to person, and as a result there are a whole range of wonder products on the market designed to offer unique protection for your under-eye skin, the trick is to find the right eye cream for your skin’s needs. Done some research and found the best 6 in the market.

Lumière de Vie Eye Balm, £32.95

This exclusive eye cream, is only sold on line…if you intrigued get in touch with me. It helps to soothe and reduce the appearance of puffiness, while deeply conditioning and hydrating the delicate eye area. The appearance of fine lines and enlarged pores is dramatically improved while helping to firm the skin in the most delicate places.

Benefit Puff-Off, £22.50

Brand new from Benefit is the Puff-Off Gel. Promising to instantly soothe inflamed and sore eyes, this cooling gel certainly does go some way to reducing the look of wrinkles and fine lines around the eye area. ‘Iron on’ with the handy applicator for a blurring, softening effect.

Darphin Ideal Resource Anti-Dark Circle Eye Illuminator, £44

Sitting somewhere between skincare and make-up, this is a handy little must-have for early mornings (after those late nights). The tinted cream glides on smoothly, leaving a translucent sheen that brightens eyes instantly.

6 Eyes Cream

Eve Lom Eye Cream, £48

The intensively concentrated formula revives tired and puffy eyes, smoothing lines and reducing dark circles.

Clinique All About Eyes, £42 for the 30ml and £26 for 15ml

As with most eye creams, this cream reduces puffiness, dark circles and wrinkles, but the best part is that it also works as a primer, keeping make-up in place all day long.

Olay Anti-Wrinkle Aqua Physics Anti-Ageing Eye Cream, £10.45

A great value eye cream, that is gentle on the delicate and thin skin around the eye area, making it ideal for sensitive or mature skin.

P.S Ladies when you apply anti-wrinkle face creams never forget your neck and hands, those areas expose your age.Take care of every single delicate areas of your skin, stay young, beautiful and needle free! 😉 X.

The “supernatural skin” trend starts within!

Hey Ladies, spring is here and summer is around the corner, so now it’s the perfect time to work on getting your skin looking “supernatural”, Join me on this journey to get the glow.

Avoiding Long Steamy Showers & Exfoliate Every Day

Face brushes

Long, hot showers strip the skin of its moisture and wash away its protective oils. So limit your showers to 10 minutes and keep the water cool. Use a exfoliate face brush every day to keep ingrown hairs and scaly skin under control. Gently scrubbing in circular motion to remove dead skin cells. My top 2 is the Clinique Sonic System and the affordable option is The Soap & Glory face exfoliates brush.

Applying Aloe Vera Gel Daily & Cooking with Garlic Everyday

T:W post 2

The acids in aloe, eats away at dead skin cells and speed up the healing process. Buy a pre-prepared product, Forever Aloe Vera Gelly or cut the end off of an aloe leaf, split it open and spread the gel on the dry areas. I cook with garlic everyday before I found this out, but apparently, Danish studies, found that it has so many healthy substances that among other things keeps our skin cells happy. Hence, people who tend to eat garlic everyday, look healthier and more youthful. Plus, garlic extract dramatically inhibited the growth of cancerous skin cells.

Drinking Plenty of Orange Juice & Take Multivitamins Daily

Orange juice is rich in vitamin C, essential for the manufacture of collagen, which helps to keep the skin smooth and youthful. Other foods rich in vitamin C include guava, kiwi fruit and red peppers. Drinking plenty of water also helps keeping clearer skin, if you’re not a fan of orange juice. Many nutrients are vital to healthy skin, including vitamins C, A and B. The most reliable way to get them all is to eat healthy, as well as taking daily supplements.

Keeping Your Hands off Your Face & Change Your Moisturiser Every Season

Because your hands touch so many surfaces, they are a magnet for dirt and germs. Rub your eyes, stroke your chin, cup your cheek, and you’ve transferred everything on your hands to your face, avoiding touching your face wont be easy. Every time the seasons change, replace your moisturiser. The Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + is good for very dry to dry combination skin but it is light, if the cold season dries out your skin as it does mine. Your skin needs more moisture in the winter than in summer. So when it’s time to wear a heavy coat, it’s time to buy a heavier moisturiser. When you swap your coat for a Tee, switch to a lighter moisturiser.

Getting Rid of Excess Oil & Choose Cosmetics Carefully

De-shine your face by periodically dabbing on loose powder to blot excess oil. Don’t use pressed powder, which actually contains oil as an ingredient. Keep your beauty products simple, particularly if you have sensitive skin. Stay away from anything with colour or fragrance, always check the label and know what you using on your skin.
Booking your Facials

Getting facials, only help if you also do the work to maintain a good skin regime, my beauty therapist recommend facials every 4-6 weeks or even up to 8 weeks depending on your skin needs, for this glowing complexion. Speak to your beauty therapist who will carry out skin analysis. The right facial for your skin needs can effectively improve skin tone, tighten the skin and remove blotches. However if your complexion just needs a touch up, or you just need a bit of pampering, then a basic facial including cleansing, exfoliation, massage, and extractions will be sufficient.

P.S Ladies Download Wahanda App, if you haven’t, it’s free and gives you a list of beauty venues, Spas, Nails etc. and prices, around your local area!

Here’s to Glowing skin 😉 X
